How do I start the program?
Like any other Windows application. There are several ways to start the software:
How do I use the program?
The software has been designed to be very easy to use:
- 1 - Find and select the supported input file you
wish to convert using standard Windows browse functionality.
- 2 - Use the Vector, Image
and Text tabs to select the output format
you want
- 3.
Change or review settings by clicking on the
Options… button
- 4 - Change the name and location of the output file if desired
- 5 - Convert!
Where can I learn more about the using the different
conversion options?
In the Help file that is included with
the software. Just click on the Help button
found in the bottom right corner of the software dialog. A
new screen will open, with a table of content for all the
topics that the Help file contains. You can expand the
outline to find the section on Conversion Options or search
the index using the Find command.
Why can’t I find my Input file?
The software only displays files for
conversion that have a supported extension. PDF FLY converts
.pdf, .ps, .eps and .prn files while META FLY converts .wmf
and .emf files. If the file you wish to convert has a
different extension or no extension and you are sure that it is a
supported format, then you should rename it to include the
correct extension so that it appears in the dialog for
selection.
How do I select more than one file for conversion?
If they are all in the same directory: click on the first file
in the list, hold down the Shift key, then click on the last file of the list – all the files will be highlighted in blue. Click Add to move to the next screen.
To choose specific files from a list, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on individual files to highlight them.
To select files from different directories, select your files from one directory first and click Add. In the next screen, click Add again to return to the file selection screen and
then browse to another directory and select more files.
Why do I get a warning about unknown fonts at the end
of the conversion?
This warning is to let you know that
your input file uses font names that our software does not
recognize as standard font names. If that happens, the text
in your output file may look different than in the original
file when
you open it in your target application. See the Installation
FAQ for more information on how to solve that problem.
This not an error – just a reminder that some fine-tuning
may be required.
The software shuts down, hangs or returns an ERROR.
What’s the problem?
We can not assess the problem without
seeing your file. Your input file could be corrupt or our interpreter might not be able to digest it properly. Please
send the troublesome file to
support@visual-integrity.com for analysis, and let us
know what product and version you are using. |
